...
The exhibition and symposium of Tea&Coffee World Cup Asia 2004 that gathered the representatives of tea and coffee businesses started on the 10th of October in Singapore. Russia's representative, general director of the "Roschaikofe" association Ramaz Chanturia read a paper on the first day of the symposium's session. He reported to the gathering about the situation on Russia's tea market, its key trends and prospects for its development. He focused on the alarming situation that tea had lost its young consumers in the past few years. He said: "I thinks that this is linked with the fact that tea propaganda has been focused first and foremost on its useful and curative properties. But young people give priority to more attractive aims rather than care of their own health. To improve the situation there is a need to change the tea promotion concept". He suggested holding a special international conference devoted to working out a new tea promotion concept that meets the demand of the time and is attractive for young people.
